Q. I submitted through the website, when do I start classes?

Q. Do you offer part-time classes?

Not at this time.

Q. Do you offer online classes?

High School Diploma/Transcript/GED Questions

Q. I don’t have my high school diploma, transcript, or GED. How do I get a copy?

Flint Community Schools: Submit the Transcript Request Form (pdf)

GED: https://ged.com/transcripts/

Penn Foster High School: https://www.pennfoster.edu/academics/student-records

Other: For most high schools, look on their website for a transcript request link, or contact their administration office. If this fails, please contact our campus manager or office manager and ask for assistance. Generally, we will need your full name while you were in high school, year of graduation, birthday, and a signed statement authorizing your high school to release the transcript to us. Depending on the high school/local board of education, this may be a lengthy process, so give yourself time.

Q. I don’t have my high school diploma, transcript or GED. Can I use college credits?

It depends on exactly what was earned and whether you are applying for Federal Student Aid. Generally, an Associate’s degree or higher will be acceptable. A transcript listing college credits may be acceptable, in some cases. Certificates generally are not. If you have a transcript showing college credits or a degree, bring it with you and we will review it.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable as long as they have official letterhead, are sent directly to Creative Hair School by the issuing school, or are retrieved in the Office of Financial Aid and Admissions directly from the school site and signed by an authorized staff member.

Q. I have a foreign high school diploma, can I use that?

Foreign high school diplomas must be evaluated by a credential evaluation agency. We recommend you use a member of one of the following organizations.:

Social Security Verification Questions

Q. I don’t have my Social Security Card. Can I use my birth certificate?

No. It’s your name and Social Security number that need to be verified.

Q. I don’t have my Social Security Card. How do I get a new copy?

You can request one online here: https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/replacement-card.html. Or, if you can’t use the online application, fill out the Application for a Social Security Card (pdf) and submit it to the Social Security Administration along with documentation. This is not a quick process, so give yourself plenty of time.

You can only receive 3 replacement Social Security Cards in a year, and 10 over your lifetime. (An exception may be made if you provide evidence from an official source that a Social Security card is required.) In some cases, where obtaining a replacement Social Security Card is impossible, the Office of Financial Aid may be able to assist in finding an alternative. But make sure all other options have been pursued first.

Driver’s Licence/State ID Questions

Q. I don’t have a valid driver’s license or state ID?

You can request a replacement or renewal driver’s license or state ID at the Michigan Department of State e-Services page. You can also request a change of address there.

You can bring in your temporary driver’s license, along with the expired license,  as a placeholder. Alternatively, if you have another form of government-issued, photo ID, you can bring that in.

Q. Somebody made a mistake, and my name wasn’t spelled correctly on one or more documents. Is that okay?

Not really, sorry. You may need to provide a signed statement, additional documentation, and/or get one of your documents corrected (depending on the exact nature of the problem). We realize dealing with government (or school) bureaucracy can be frustrating, but we need to report accurate information to our oversight agencies.
